(ASSOCHAM) is the country’s oldest apex chamber.
It brings in actionable insights to strengthen the Indian ecosystem, leveraging its network of more than 4,50,000 members, of which MSMEs represent a large segment. With a strong presence in states, and key cities globally, ASSOCHAM also has more than 400 associations, federations and regional chambers in its fold.
Aligned with the vision of creating a New India, ASSOCHAM works as a conduit between the industry and the Government. The Chamber is an agile and forward looking institution, leading various initiatives to enhance the global competitiveness of the Indian industry, while strengthening the domestic ecosystem.
The Chamber also supports civil society through citizenship programmes, to drive inclusive development. ASSOCHAM’s member network leads initiatives in various segments such as empowerment, healthcare, education and skilling, hygiene, affirmative action, road safety, livelihood, life skills, sustainability, to name a few.
The Chamber believes that affirmative action in these areas would help drive an inclusive and sustainable socio-economic growth for the country.
Sustainability is becoming central to decision-making across the world, as governments, businesses, and civil society embrace a socially responsible framework to enhance the environment. In order to complement in India’s Sustainability Movement and take it to the next level, ASSOCHAM has initiated the GEM Green Building Certification Program and GEM Eco-product Certification with the objective to promote environment friendly building design and construction. The GEM green building certification programme enables the architects, planners, designers and project proponents to think and act through the lens of environment, climate, energy and materials usage.
Empowerment is essential to ensure all groups contribute to and fairly benefit from growth processes in a country. ASSOCHAM Empowerment Council is pro-actively working towards creating a platform for people worldwide to speak, share, connect 8 collaborate for business beyond borders and robustly encouraging and empowering women in business, industry, and commerce across all sectors.
The Indian entrepreneurial spirit has strengthened owing to a supportive regulatory ecosystem, advancements in technology, changing consumer needs, and innovation. ASSOCHAM has been actively participating in the promotion of Entrepreneurial programs in various parts of India and has emerged as the fountainhead of knowledge for the Indian Industry.
The past few decades have seen digitization become an increasingly integral part of our daily lives, and ever since the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, the digital transformation has accelerated. This year, ASSOCHAM would continue its endeavour in this direction focusing more on 5G and its use cases, technologies like IOT, the financial health of the Sector, and its further growth.
